Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has participated in the first cultural forum between the Iraqi and Turkish universities represented by the International Association of Universities held at Al-Iraqia University in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Administrative Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Hamid Kazim al-Shukri and the Director General of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations Prof. Dr. HazIm Baqir Taher and the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Riza Guney and a number of rectors of Iraqi universities and academic figures.
Dr. Munir al-Saadi stated that the forum aimed to strengthen the scientific and educational relations between Iraqi and Turkish universities and achieving common goals and exchanging scientific experiences between the two sides in line with the advancement plan sought by Iraqi universities. The forum addressed many topics, the most prominent of which is to emphasis on activating and exchanging mutual academic initiatives in the light of agreements and memorandums of understanding signed in advance between the ministries of higher education of the two parties, in addition to developing skills and supporting youth projects, as well as strengthening cooperation in relevant fields of postgraduate studies, holding seminars, lectures and joint conferences towards creating common ground for the second forum that would be held in Ankara next May 2022.
