The council of the University of Baghdad held its 6th session under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi and his assistant for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Sudad Hashim Hamid and his assistant for administrative affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarmad al-Ansari, as well as the council secretary, members and deans of faculties, postgraduate institutes and research & service centers.
At the onset of the session the members discussed the approval of the promotion of a number of professors, as well as directing deans of colleges to find out administrative solutions for various matters of interest at their formations and to take their responsibilities seriously, especially when dealing with employees and students in different matters immediately without returning to the university’s presidency. Also the members discussed the dimensions of a meeting with the Turkish Universities Federation to discuss a number of common issues in terms of providing scholarships and partnerships for Iraqi students, where the Turkish side was pledged to support the Turkish language department at the college of languages through coordination with the Turkish Embassy in Baghdad. The agenda of the session also included to follow-up the stages of urban completion in rehabilitation and maintenance projects conducted at some faculties and postgraduate institutes in terms of the provision of necessary supplies besides other issues.
