The college of engineering at the University of Baghdad held recently its eighth annual conference which is also the second international conference of its kind this year for celebrating its centenary jubilee in the presence of the representative of the minister of higher education and scientific research, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan al-Attiyah and the rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi.
The aim of the conference is to provide and document all engineering information and update research developments in the field of applied engineering sciences as well as to exchange experiences in various fields of engineering and technology in order to serve the progress of scientific research and the development of engineering sciences, in addition to providing an environment suitable for researchers. At the onset of this event the rector delivered a speech in which he stressed that our university adopts a serious policy to encourage scientific research with the aim to raise its status at the global level, pointing out that more than 500 research papers have been cited in Scopus and Clarivete Analytics and others, stressing that such joint conferences come to exchange local and international experiences of the Iraqi faculty members, besides contribution in the entry of the University of Baghdad in sober international rankings.
