The Center and Museum of Natural History at the University of Baghdad held recently its first international scientific conference on natural history and wildlife in the presence of the assistant rector for administrative affairs Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarmad Fouad, the rector of the University of Fallujah, the rector of Al-Ayen University in Dhi Qar and a number of researchers from inside and outside Iraq. This event was held with the aim to study the natural history of neighborhoods and how to preserve them as an important part of sustainable development in the country applied for developing appropriate scientific solutions to prevent overfishing and large urban sprawl. The conference witnessed the participation of representatives of several Arab and international universities who discussed matters related to nature reserves and the protection of natural sites. At the end of the conference, the assistant rector dedicated a number of shields to participants and inaugurated an exhibition that included a number of natural artistic products made during the curfew.
