The Center for Women’s Studies at the University of Baghdad participated has participated in co-authoring a guide on gender integration in the voting process, as part of the implementation of the national plan to support women’s political participation in the elections to the House of Representatives in cooperation and coordination with other stakeholders.
This guide provides a number of practical measures based on field monitoring of the electoral process in the country that are derived from the best adopted practices that may directly affect women on the polling day to enable election officials and assist the Independent High Electoral Commission in achieving the highest degree of effectiveness in developing gender-sensitive guidance and procedures on polling day. The guide also focuses on the basic principles that should be available to encourage women to vote, as well as its significance those who contribute in this experience.
