The college of pharmacy at the University of Baghdad has organized a virtual workshop entitled “The race for scientific publication” attended by the editors-in-chief of the first-quarter journals, Prof. Dr. Ali Asghar Salem, a faculty member at the college of pharmacy at the University of Iowa, and the editorial board member of AAPS Journal that is a bimonthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering all aspects of pharmaceutical sciences, published by Springer Science+Business Media on behalf of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
Dr. Stuart Cantrill, Chief Editor of the Nature Chemistry journal also gave lectures via Zoom platform on the Nature Publishing Group, its origin and that publishes academic journals, magazines, online databases, and services in science and medicine. The lecturers also talked about the importance of adhering to the publishing controls of any magazine to be published in and how to contact with the editor. It is noteworthy that more than 150 professors and postgraduate students have attended this event who exchanged points of view about publishing standards and the difference between open access and non-open access journals and other related details of sober rankings.
