Professor from the college of engineering participates in a symposium on the identity of Iraqi local architecture

Assist. Prof. Dr. Dergham Mizher al-Obaidi, the head of the department of architecture at the University of Baghdad has participated in a symposium on the sustainable development and the identity of Iraqi local architecture that was held and sponsored by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in Najaf under the auspices of its rector Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq al-Zuhairi, in the presence of the rector of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed al-Ghaban. The symposium addressed four topics, including the 2030 agenda for sustainable development goals in Iraq between heritage and contemporary times, the shifts in the identity of Iraqi local architecture, the techniques and materials of construction in the Iraqi city between the past and present and finally the legislation and building codes.
