The college of media at the University of Baghdad has organized an awareness campaign to combat the phenomenon of smoking cigarettes among the staff and students of the college including imposing a fine of 10,000 Iraqi dinars for violators. The campaign included the distribution of posters at the corridors and courtyards of the college to encourage people to quit smoking and to illustrate the dangers of this phenomenon to human health and the extent to which they affect the environment, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is noteworthy that the ministry of higher education and scientific research and the presidency of the University of Baghdad have recently launched an educational and awareness campaign in this regard to get rid of this pathological behavior.
