The department of remote sensing and geographic information systems at the college of science has organized recently a memorial service for the departure of Prof. Dr. Ghaida Sabeeh Hadi, in the presence of the assistant rector for administrative affairs Prof. Dr. Sarmad Fouad, the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Abdul Kareem Abdul Razzaq and his assistant for scientific affairs in addition to a number of faculty members at the department.
At the onset of this occasion, some verses from the Holy Quran were recited and dedicated to the spirit of the late deceased, then a number of speeches were delivered by her colleagues that expressed their sincere condolences and deep sadness at the loss of the most virtuous and prominent professors who had an unforgettable imprint for her students and was an example of high morals and altruism. For her part, the head of the department of remote sensing and geographic information systems, Prof. Dr. Sundus Abdul Abbas, stated in her speech that Dr. Ghaida Sabeeh was a symbol of pure spirit and dedication for knowledge and an icon of academic success for her contributions in the graduation of many scholars and students. It is noteworthy that the memorial ceremony was attended by the rector of Al-Karkh University of Science, Prof. Dr. Thamer Abdul Amir Hassan and a gathering of her colleagues and students.
