The department of crisis studies at the center for strategic and international studies has recently organized a virtual workshop entitled “The role of regulatory authority in reclaiming stolen Iraqi assets” delivered by the Lecturer Dr. Fadia Abbas Hadi who addressed the impact of widespread corruption in Iraq on the life of citizens and which led to the increasing need for recovering these smuggled funds abroad.

The lecturer urged at the same time to activate the role of the related entities to demand and recover such huge amounts of money so as to employ them in the development of our national economy through which we can achieve living prosperity. She also pointed out that the issue of smuggling assets is considered as one of the most dangerous forms of corruption and economic crimes that undermine the values of justice and humanity that might in turn leads to weakening the state’s ability to achieve its development goals or reform projects directly related to the well-being of people and secure equality towards building the state of law.
