The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnologies for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad has organized an electronic training course entitled (In-vitro phagocytosis assays in the laboratory) via the Google Meet service that lasted two days and was delivered by the Assist. Prof. Dr. Bushra Jassim Mohammed with the participation of a large number of specialists, researchers and those interested in this topic.

The first lecture dealt with the definition of this term as well as the mechanism and types of the cells that perform this function in the body, through measuring the engulfment of a substrate by phagocytic cells and swallowing solid particles by the cell membrane to form the inner pharynx, or “food gap”. It also clarified the mechanism by which microorganisms can be contained, killed and processed to display antigen that represents an important aspect of the innate immune response, especially the immune system include neutrophil cells, connective cells and immature twig cells in mammals. The second virtual lecture included a detailed explanation of the different protocols for pharyngeal tests in the laboratory that is very useful for workers, students and researchers in the field of immunology, and the electronic course showed that there are many types of pharyngeal tests. The test is carried out by determining the amount of ingestion in a particular substrate, so that to assess the effect of antibodies, vaccines and the like. The lecturer asserted that the red blood cells are used in the in-vitro phagocytosis assays by the feed conversion ratio (FCR),
