Prof. Dr. Athraa Ismail Zaidan, the director of the center for women’s studies at the University of Baghdad has announced recently the inauguration of a new economic empowerment plan for the academic year (2021- 2022) within her participation at the National Conference for the Women’s Economic Empowerment Plan.
She stated that this plan was drafted under the direct supervision of His Excellency the minister of planning and the Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the Women’s Economic Empowerment, Prof. Dr. Khalid Batal al-Najm in cooperation with the Department of Women’s Empowerment at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. It is noteworthy that this plan is to be crystallized with the support of the World Bank Group, as part of al-Mashreq Initiative that consists of the joint work adhered by Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon, based on many pillars and activities in this regard for the sake of the economic empowerment of Arab women in general.
