The college of education for women at the University of Baghdad has at Baghdad concluded a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) as part of its participation in addressing the major issues affecting the Iraqi community, which has been subjected to successive crises and challenges, based on its aim to provide full rights to Iraqi children. Therefore the terms of this agreement seek to get rid of all problems that have negatively affected children and the need to build programs urgently and some integrated plans to solve crucial matters in Iraq.
The memorandum of understanding dealt with three main themes: presenting research papers on the development and rights of children, adolescents and young people, also organizing a number of seminars and conferences on issues related to the children’s rights, in addition to sponsoring training courses on child development for researchers and students. It is noteworthy that this memorandum of understanding was signed by the dean of the college Prof. Dr. Ishaq Saleh al-Akam and the UNICEF Iraq Deputy Representative, Ms. Paula Bulancea in the presence of a number of faculty members.
