The University of Baghdad gained the 1st status locally according to the Nature Index database for publishing 7 researches out of 26 global published researches according to the latest statistics of the ministry of higher education and scientific research until October 1, 2021, so it has surpassed the Mustansiriyah University, University of Babylon and other Iraqi universities.
It is noteworthy that the Nature Index database is one of the leading websites that tracks the scientific output of institutions across the world since its introduction in 2016. Each year, it ranks the leading institutions by the amount of scientific articles and papers published in sober journals in various disciplines such as life sciences, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and it is part of Springer Nature Publishing Company.
