Prof. Dr. Sarmad Fouad, the assistant rector for administrative affairs at the University of Baghdad has attended recently an extended training course for election observers held at a number of training centers set up by the Independent High Electoral Commission at the faculties of education for humanities (Ibn Rushd), languages and pharmacy in Bab Al-Moatham Complex, dedicated for the professors who will monitor the conduct of the coming electoral process in Iraq. The assistant rector praised the academic role played by the faculty members of the University of Baghdad who will participate as supervisors of polling stations, as well as the modern voting mechanisms that will be applied to ensure the successful undertaking of the parliamentary & legislative elections scheduled in Iraq for 10 October.
For its part, the High Electoral Commission expressed its thanks to all members for their mutual cooperation and for providing facilities to its technical teams. It is noteworthy that this training session was attended by representatives and observer coordinators of the European Union Observation Mission in Iraq, as well as the director of the financial affairs department Prof. Dr. Mohammed al-Azzawi, the director of the dormitories Prof. Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan and the director of media and public relations department, Prof. Dr. Adel Abdul Razzaq al-Gharieri.
