Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has received recently in his office the head of the Military Manufacturing Board (MIB) the engineer Mr. Mohammed Sahib al-Darraji and his delegation to discuss ways of scientific and practical cooperation between the two sides. Mr. Mohammed al-Darraji pointed out during his speech that this visit came up with the purpose of addressing prospects of mutual cooperation with an elite of our university’s faculty members so as to support and develop the reality of military manufacturing in Iraq, in alignment with other initiatives with other Iraqi universities in different fields of scientific research that may in turn contribute to the modernization of military production, as well as benefiting from the scientific and practical experiences of its researchers.

For his part, the rector confirmed the readiness of the university to support the military industry in an integrative way, pointing out the need for forming joint teams of researchers and postgraduate students to review the projects in this regard, adding that there are distinguished capabilities that need to be invested financially through the provision of supplies and means in order to refine them which will inevitably serve the Iraqi military industries. The two sides then agreed to hold joint scientific workshops and seminars to identify objectives and points of view in the near future. It is noteworthy that the meeting was attended by the deans of the faculties of engineering, science and others.
