Dr. Amina Yas al-Thuynifi, a professor from the institute of genetic engineering and biotechnologies at the University of Baghdad had participated in the first scientific conference of pure sciences sponsored by the college of science at Diyala University, held under the slogan “Pure sciences as the fundamental pillars in development.”
The lecturer submitted a research paper in which she has studied the consequences of Covid-19 pandemic that is threatening human beings all across the world and that has infected more than 1.8 million people and caused the death of more than three million people, by selecting a group of 528 people who were tested positive for Covid-19 and she measured three biomarkers (D-Dimer, Fertin and the exide enzyme dehydrogenase) to analyze data. The results showed that this disease has affected all ages, especially among adults aged (21-60) years, where male infection recorded (278) cases more higher than that of females (250 cases). She noted that biomarkers have increased, particularly in severe cases, with (D-Daimler level=9.80 ng/ml) compared to the control group of (0.259) at (2000ng ml level) compared to control group, while the level of lactate dehydrogenase was (1364/L) compared to the control group.
