The Adult Nursing Branch at the University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the faculty’s scientific unit, held an online symposium entitled “Diabetes & Lifestyle” presented by the Assist. Lecturer Safad Riad Essam via Google Meet platform, as part of the activities of scientific branches for the academic year (2020-2021).
This event was attended by a number of professors and postgraduate students of the college where the lecturer gave an introduction of diabetes types, its main causes and treatment through examining symptoms when detecting a high blood sugar level. Then he stressed on the ways for handling of diabetes by adhering to a certain diet and changing the routine lifestyle of the patients, also recommending the early detection of this disease through educating individuals, families and the whole society about the need to follow-up the levels of blood sugar, pressure and cholesterol, as well as the importance of maintaining a healthy weight for everyone and preserving a balanced diet for those diagnosed with this disease.
