Prof. Dr. Ammar Taher, dean of the college of media at the University of Baghdad has received recently the vice president of the Islamic Radio and Television Union Mr. Nasser Akhdar and his delegation with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two sides. The two parties agreed to intensify the meetings to develop a joint action program that includes, besides other terms, the modernization of the technical structures of the studios and laboratories of the college of media, as well as the adoption and marketing of students’ outputs in local and international satellite channels, in addition to the establishment of professional workshops in various aspects of communication.

Dr. Ammar Taher stated in his speech that the college is keen to open up the prospects for communication and cooperation with local and international professional and trade union institutions with the aim of developing the skills of students and lecturers in broadcasting. Mr. Nasser Akhdar called on the institutions of the Islamic Union to make the best use of the research and studies conducted by the Iraqi graduate students which diagnosed some technical and structural imbalances in the media sector. At the same time, he called for the screening of documentary films produced by media students, particularly those that talk about the University of Baghdad which had graduated thousands of generations of scientists and innovators to serve humanity everywhere.
