The department of history at the college of education for women held a virtual scientific workshop via Google Meet service entitled “Taking care of martyrs’ families as a sacred duty” which was chaired the Assist. Prof. Dr. Weam Shaker Ghani.

The lecturer stated that the Iraqi government is always interested to take care of the families of our heroic martyrs for all the sacrifices they made to protect the country from any evils, so it has established the Martyrs Foundation in 2006, that is an institution associated with the Council of Ministers and interested in providing the necessary care for these families in all areas of life, through the allocation of salaries and lands, in addition to the provision of exceptions in the field of primary and higher education, health care and other services. Dr. Weam Shaker recommended the need to provide a decent life for the poor families through providing them with permanent housing, salaries and medical care.
