The third edition of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021 of the global performance of universities across the world in sustainable development goals (SDGs) showed a new achievement for the University of Baghdad that was ranked in the (601-800) place out of 1115 global universities in accordance with the 17 UN sustainable development goals, as well as the emergence of new 37 Iraqi public and private universities.  Our university gained the (401-600) place in good health and well-being out of (871) global universities, the (401-600) place in quality education out of (966) participating universities, the (401-600) place in industry innovations and infrastructure out of (680) universities, the (201-300) place in sustainable cities and communities out of (656) world universities and the (601-800) place in partnerships for the goals out of (1154) universities.

Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad congratulated and praised the efforts exerted by all university members, which culminated in this new progress. It is noteworthy that the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings is issued annually to assess universities based indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparison across four broad areas: research, stewardship, outreach and teaching, according to 17 goals, 169 targets and 230 indicators for the UN sustainable development.
