Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has received recently His Excellency Mr. Kotaro Suzuki, the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq and his entourage in the hall of the Iraqi-German Center for Antiquities and Assyrians at the college of arts where the two sides discussed the prospects of joint scientific and cultural cooperation. The meeting was attended by Assist. Prof. Dr. Wasan Saeed Aboud, the assistant dean for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Wahid Mahmoud, the director of the Japanese Historical Studies Program, Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan, the director of dormitories and Assist. Prof. Dr. Adel al-Ghariri, the director of the department of media and public relations.
Dr. Munir al-Saadi addressed matters related to conducting several proposed projects in the field of engineering disciplines and humanities for postgraduate studies, recommended to strengthen coordination in technical fields, training of Iraqi faculty members and students by the Japanese educational institutions. At the conclusion of this meeting, the delegation visited the Japanese Language Education Laboratory and the Postgraduate Library at the college of arts.
