A number of professors from the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad visited Ibn Al-Bitar Center for Cardiac Surgery related to the Iraqi ministry of industry and minerals. The aim of the visit is to keep abreast of the modern devices used in the center that may be of utmost benefit to the nature of research required of postgraduate students such as: high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and gas chromatography (GC), mass spectrometry GC/MS, supercritical fluid extraction (SFE). Such devices can be used in research for obtaining data on fermentation products, antibiotics, solvent recovery and sometimes on biomass drying.
