The continuing education unit, in collaboration with the student activities unit at the college of science for women held recently a virtual seminar entitled “Knee Pain: treatment and rehabilitation” presented by Dr. Najat Baqir Mashkur and Assist. Lecturer Zuhaa Abdul Hassan via Google Classroom service. Dr. Najat Baqir explained that knee injuries are common among elderly people and athletes and that they occur as a result of obesity, prolonged standing, carrying heavy objects or carrying light weight items but in the wrong way causing repeated stress on the knee, as well as sudden movements or inflexibility of the knee joint.

Then she addressed a range of exercises to avoid knee pain especially for athletes, including a hamstring stretch, straight leg lift, thigh muscle, sitting down and pillow workout exercises, also she made an illustrative presentation on how to treat knee pains by ankle mobility and squat exercises that strengthen leg muscles and increase hormone secretion.
