The biological research unit for hot areas, in collaboration with Ibn Sina e-learning and continuing education units at the college of science held an online seminar entitled ” DNA Microarray Technology” via Google Meet service with the participation of a number of students and professors specialized in geology and medicine.

The seminar was chaired by Assist. Lecturer Noor al-Huda Fakhri Khalaf aimed to highlight this molecular technology used in scientific research for several purposes such as studying gene expression which is a process by which the instructions in our DNA are converted into a functional product, such as a protein, or for studying the effect of a drug on patients and many other applications, in addition to showing the results of the examination in the form of microarrays in different colors according to hybridization. Also the lecturers discussed the DNA chip technology that utilizes microscopic arrays of nucleotides immobilized on solid surfaces for biochemical analysis.
