The Civil Defense Division of the Department of Follow-up and Coordination at the University of Baghdad organized a virtual experimental exercise to rescue people and emergency action at the university’s presidency tower. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Wahid Nasser, the assistant rector for administrative affairs pointed out that this exercise was carried out in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Karrada province in the presence of the operations manager Col. Qai’d Saadi, the official of the sensing division in Rusafa province Col. Mahmoud Jassim and the official of the training and rescue unit Commissioner Bilal Bassem. Dr. Ahmed Wahid stressed the need to establish such practices and to train people and staff of the civil defense units in all university formations on how to encounter any emergency, God forbid.
For their part, the director of the follow-up and coordination department Prof. Dr. Mohsen al-Shammari and Mr. Ammar Ghazi, head of the Civil Defense Division at the university confirmed that they have previously organized such training workshops on how to deal with accidents using modern methods and first aid for the common good.
