The college of agricultural engineering sciences held recently its second patents conference and exhibition in the presence of the rector of the University of Baghdad Prof. Munir Hamid al-Saadi and the rector of Al-Nahrain University Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Aziz al-Shawi as the representative of the minister of higher education and scientific research, as well as the technical Undersecretary of the ministry of agriculture, Dr. Mithaq Abdul Hussein al-Khafaji, a number of general managers of the ministries of agriculture & higher education and faculty deans.
Many research papers were presented at the conference proceedings regarding patent quality and the pursuit of Iraq’s entry into the annual Global Innovation Index of world countries by their capacity for, and success in, innovation. The participants also discussed the prospects of joining the Patent Cooperation Treaty and highlighted the future visions of patent investments by enabling the inventors of readiness factor by examining the economic feasibility and promotional value of patents in the labor market. Then a patent exhibition was held within the framework of the conference that witnessed the presentation of other patents related to hybridization, reproduction, biological tests and scientific technologies. At the conclusion of this event, Prof. Dr. Kazem Dili Hassan, dean of the college of agricultural engineering sciences dedicated certificates of appreciation, creativity medals and shields of honor to the participants and sponsors of the conference.
