The Council of the University of Baghdad held its 4th session for the current academic year headed by its Rector Prof. Dr. Imad Hussein Mirza Al-Husseini in the presence of the Associates Rector for administrative and scientific affairs Prof. Dr. Hussein Hameed Kareem and Assist. Prof. Dr. Osama Fadel Abdul Latif, respectively as well as deans of colleges and institutes.
The university council discussed within its agenda several topics, namely the scientific promotion of a number of teaching staff to the rank of professorship, the accreditation of academic journals, discussion of school holidays, the mechanism for granting the second extension for postgraduate students, as well as postponing the study of a number of graduate students and their return to morning and evening studies. Also the council discussed the extension of professors’ service and lifting of study suspension for the department of Kurdish language at the college of languages via benefiting from the services and expertise of professors from Ibn Rushd college of education for humanities.
