Prof. Dr. Emad Hussein Al-Husseini has been recently appointed in his new position as the Rector of the University of Baghdad in the presence of the university’s associates for scientific and administrative affairs as well as the heads of the administrative and scientific departments at the university presidency.

Al-Husseini stressed that his position is a mandate, not an honor, and he is determined to work in the spirit of one family and that one of our strategies in the administration of the university is to work in the light of transparency and cooperation in order to upgrade and develop this great edifice.

Also he pointed out that the mother of universities deserves to offer all our scientific and research potential to be in line with the ranks of major international universities, stressing on the university’s great reputation that we must all work to preserve by providing the best scientific services and insights to students, staff and professors, as well as preserving the public money and the university infrastructure.

It is noteworthy that Prof. Dr. Emad Hussein Al-Husseini held several positions, including head of the department of engineering and information technology at the University of Technology ( 2004-2005), dean of the Institute of Informatics for Graduate Studies in the Iraqi Computer and Informatics Authority at the ministry of higher education and scientific research (2006-2014), president of the Iraqi Computer and Informatics Authority (2007-2014), Rector of Al-Mustansiriya University in 2009, head of the department of communications engineering at the University of Technology (2015-2018) and Rector of the University of Technology in 2019.
