The higher institute of accounting and financial studies at the University of Baghdad held its 4th national conference of postgraduate students under the slogan “By science and work, peoples elevating” in the presence of the Associate Rector for scientific affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmed Waheed Nassir and a high-level academic presence.
The conference included the presentation of (29) research papers after being accepted and evaluate by specialists in financial, accounting and tax aspects where the proceedings included two axes, the accounting and supervisory axis and the financial axis.
The accounting and financial axis discussed the requirements of international accounting standards and financial reporting in the Iraqi environment with the commitment of government audit standards to preserve the public funds, while the financial axis focused on several aspects, including the banking sector and the role of the Central Bank in the development of banking services, as well as the role of tax authorities in supporting public revenues towards the development of the national economy in conjunction with the insurance sector’s impact on economic development and supporting various State sectors.
It is noteworthy that this conference was attended by members from the Federal Financial Supervisory Office and the Central Bank of Iraq, as well as the participation of the Captain of Iraqi Accountants and Auditors Mr. Jawad al-Sheheili.
