Dr. Herta Däubler, the former German minister of justice has recently visited the University of Baghdad and was received by associate rector for administrative affairs Prof. Dr. Hussein Hameed Kareem where he pointed out during his speech that our university is the largest scientific institution in Iraq characterized with highly trained teaching staff in addition to several technical and administrative cadres.
The former German minister was briefed on the number of colleges, institutes and centers and she visited the university museum to learn about the history of the university that was built by German engineer Walter Gropius in 1959 and its successive rectors.
