Signing an Agreement with the University of Cardiff
The University of Baghdad and within the scientific approach to provide scientific opportunities for students and faculty, and to create a strong academic climate that would live up to reality of Iraq’s education , has held scientific and cultural agreement with the University of Cardiff , where the President of the University of Baghdad professor, Dr. Musa Jawad al Moussawi visited the University of Cardiff on Thursday on 07.14.2011 after he was invited by the President of the University of Cardiff and he met senior officials at the University of Cardiff, to sign a memorandum of understanding involving cooperation between the two universities in the areas of scientific research and exchange visits of professors and participate in exams committees and facilitate the acceptance of graduate students , Dr. Musa al-Musawi was acquainted with the possibilities of the university to ensure the possibility of providing services and scientific applications of the Iraqi researchers, with access to laboratories at the Faculty of Engineering and was confirmed with the different kinds of methods of education at the University of Cardiff and their compatibility with the students and researchers of the University of Baghdad. After that President of the University met Iraqi students at the University of Cardiff and discussed their studying status and the difficulties and obstacles that hinder their study, and after being acquainted with the reality of the students at the University of Cardiff and what affects their scientific process Dr. Musa al-Musawi promised to transform and follow those disabilities of students in education with officials in the Ministry of Higher Education to overcome all the difficulties or obstacles in front of them. The president of the University explained for the officials at the University of Cardiff that the University of Baghdad is keen to extend bridges of culture and science among great universities in the world, and that the university appreciates all of these agreements and memorandum of understanding that would be developed and the reality of education in Iraq, noting the looking forward of the university to promote the highest levels through scientific communication and cultural exchange, also the university president presented some gifts to the President of the University of Cardiff, and Cardiff University in turn presented some gifts and souvenirs of the University of Baghdad. Dr. Musa has shown some of the proposals in the exchange of expertise between the University of Baghdad and the University of Cardiff, to provide the best scientific and academic programs for students, especially in the areas of technological development and advanced software to make them available to university students and the possibilities of exchanging of experience in engineering, then the President reviewed achievements of the university, showing how the study is processing and to keep up with the major universities in the Middle East, and this agreement will bring more opportunities for students of engineering in the development of potential students by informing them of the international experiences. It is noteworthy that Cardiff University is one of the best British universities, for being one of the most British innovative , ambitious and successful universities, it was classified in seventh place out of 106 British universities in the recent government Research Assessment, and despite the fact that the University has announced its founding in 1883, it focused on the twenty-one century, which reflects the excellent reputation of the University in terms of development and advanced scientific research.
