The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar titled “Islamic Discourse in Social Media”, under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Na’ma Dhahesh Farhan, and attended by a number of faculty members, researchers, and students.

The seminar aimed to highlight the role of Islamic discourse in shaping public opinion through social media platforms and emphasized the importance of utilizing these modern tools to promote moderate Islamic values and strengthen sound religious awareness.

Presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Shukriya Hammoud Abdul Wahid and Assistant Professor Dr. Maha Talib Abdullah, the seminar addressed several key themes focused on crafting Islamic discourse using a contemporary media approach characterized by moderation and openness. It also explored how such discourse can counter extremist and misleading narratives prevalent in the digital space.

This seminar contributes to the achievement of one of the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 4, which advocates for quality education.
