The Scientific Journals Integrity Committee at the College of Engineering held its regular meeting, chaired by the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr. Ziyad Tariq, with the attendance of committee members.

The meeting addressed several key topics, most notably the transition from paper-based processes to digital systems, the challenges of automating operations, and the ongoing implementation of scientific integrity standards in academic journals.

The session included a presentation by committee member and faculty member in the Department of Environmental Engineering, Dr. Abeer Al-Wardi, who highlighted the committee’s operational mechanisms and automation processes. She emphasized the importance of adhering to publishing protocols within reputable scientific databases.

Additionally, Professor Dr. Nadia Adnan, Editor-in-Chief of the Engineering Journal, presented a set of ideas and procedures for submitting research to scientific journals. She responded to committee members’ inquiries to enhance workflow efficiency and improve the quality of scientific publishing.

Professor Dr. Ziyad Tariq concluded the meeting by stressing the need to uphold scientific and academic standards and to work collaboratively to overcome challenges. He commended the efforts and cooperation of the committee members in advancing the scientific integrity of academic journals.

This initiative contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
