The President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, received Dr. Jean-Noël Ballié, Regional Director of the Francophone University Agency in the Middle East, during an official visit aimed at exploring prospects for joint cooperation and expanding scientific and cultural partnerships between the two parties.

The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs; Professor Dr. Ali Adnan Mshoush, Dean of the College of Languages; Professor Dr. Dhaka Al-Haidari, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs; and Professor Dr. Enas Khalifa Al-Sharqi, Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations.

During the meeting, several joint projects between the university and the agency were discussed. Dr. Ballié expressed the agency’s interest in focusing its efforts on addressing academic challenges, emphasizing the importance of developing sustainable partnerships with leading educational institutions such as the University of Baghdad.

Both sides affirmed the importance of supporting training programs and specialized workshops. Reference was made to previous cooperation between the agency and the College of Law, as well as ongoing coordination with the College of Languages, which has taken the initiative to send students for training and is preparing to inaugurate the “French Corner” on October 30.

The University of Baghdad, for its part, confirmed that it has administrative units dedicated to cooperation with international organizations and the European Union, and that it is keen to establish effective partnerships that keep pace with developments in higher education and open broader horizons for students and faculty members.
