The President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, received Mr. Bilal Al-Saghir, the representative of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, in Iraq.

The meeting was also attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah; the Dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence, Professor Dr. Diaa Jassim Kazem; the Dean of the College of Excellence, Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali; and the Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Professor Dr. Enas Khalifa Al-Sharqi.

Discussions focused on prospects for cooperation between the University and IFC in the areas of human capital development and enhancing the practical skills of university students in alignment with labor market demands.

Both parties emphasized their shared objectives and the importance of integrating academic knowledge with modern technical skills, particularly in the fields of financial technology, artificial intelligence, information systems, entrepreneurship, financial analysis, and the stock market.

The IFC representative expressed admiration for the advanced academic standards and notable progress demonstrated by the faculty and students of the University of Baghdad, praising the educational environment that fosters creativity and innovation.

This visit aligns with the University of Baghdad’s efforts to strengthen international partnerships and open new horizons for students to engage with global financial and technological institutions.

It also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
