In implementation of the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, to support the knowledge economy and expand specialized academic programs, a ministerial delegation headed by Dr. Haider Al-Aboudi, Director of the Department of Media and Government Communication at the Ministry, visited the University of Baghdad to review the final stages of preparation for the opening of the Colleges of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence at the beginning of next September. The visit was attended by the University President, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, along with his scientific and administrative deputies.

The field tour included following up on the ongoing preparations, which are progressing at an accelerated pace, in terms of infrastructure, technical, and administrative requirements to provide a modern educational environment capable of accommodating the needs of the new academic programs, in line with scientific and technological developments.

The University President affirmed that the project enjoys the direct support of the Minister, praising his continuous commitment to developing the infrastructure of higher education and ensuring the provision of all necessary resources to guarantee the success of this pioneering academic initiative.

This step reflects the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education in opening new horizons for students and supporting study programs that promote digital transformation and artificial intelligence technologies, thereby strengthening the regional and international standing of Iraqi universities.

This initiative contributes to achieving several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
