In implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, and with direct support from the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, the University of Baghdad has launched the second phase of the rehabilitation and reconstruction works at the site of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences in Abu Ghraib, through a field visit conducted by an official delegation from the university presidency.

The delegation was headed by Prof.Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashemi, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, who conducted an on-site inspection of the college and the infrastructure in need of rehabilitation to ensure a proper academic environment for the college’s return to its original location.

In his statement, Prof.Dr. Al-Hashemi affirmed that this phase represents a continuation of sincere efforts to revive one of Iraq’s oldest agricultural colleges. He emphasized that the full return of the college requires the concerted efforts of all service, technical, and logistical sectors in the Abu Ghraib district, in order to complete the upcoming stages of rehabilitation efficiently and swiftly, in line with an integrated developmental vision.

These efforts are part of a comprehensive plan being implemented by the University of Baghdad to support the infrastructure of educational institutions and to strengthen their academic and scientific presence in serving society and advancing agricultural development.

This activity contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
