The Journal of the College of Dentistry – University of Baghdad has achieved notable advancement in global scientific journal rankings, particularly within the Scopus database. This progress serves as evidence of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of published research and solidify the journal’s reputation within the international academic community.

Among the most prominent indicators of this development is the improvement in the CiteScore, which rose from 1.0 to 1.9, representing an approximate 90% increase. This significant growth reflects a rise in citations of the journal’s published articles, highlighting its growing academic impact and visibility within the field of dentistry. In addition, the Percentile ranking increased from 54% to 73% within the Dentistry – Miscellaneous category, placing the journal among the top 27% of journals in that field.

As a result of these developments, the journal has ascended to the second quartile (Q2) in the classification of scientific journals in the field of dentistry. This achievement confirms the journal’s esteemed status in terms of research quality and academic influence.

This advancement marks an important milestone not only for the journal but also for the College of Dentistry – University of Baghdad, reinforcing its academic presence both regionally and internationally. It is expected to attract researchers and scholars from various institutions to submit their work to the journal and foster broader opportunities for academic and research collaboration with global scientific entities.

This success contributes to the realization of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
