Dr. Zaidoun Jawad Mohammed, a faculty member at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Baghdad, has been awarded the 2025 Sports Leadership Medal by the Asian Athletics Association. The honor was presented in recognition of his outstanding efforts and contributions to the advancement of athletics across Asia over the past 12 years.
This distinction was awarded during the General Assembly (Congress) of the Asian Athletics Association, held on the sidelines of the 26th Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea. The award comes as part of the Congress’s initiative to spotlight distinguished academic figures across Asia who have played pivotal roles in the development of sports.
This recognition also supports Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), emphasizing the importance of collaboration in achieving shared global objectives.
