Under the direct supervision of Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of Baghdad University, and with field oversight from Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashemi, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, the university has launched a campaign to rehabilitate the Abu Ghraib campus, the former site of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, in preparation for its return to its original location.
The campaign includes mobilizing service teams and workers to clear debris and clean buildings and surrounding areas as part of a comprehensive plan to restore educational and service facilities, ensuring a suitable environment for students and faculty members.
The university president emphasized that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure and redistribute colleges in alignment with academic objectives and urban planning considerations. He stressed the importance of completing the work within a defined timeline.
The administrative assistant noted that work teams are continuing their field efforts, and the university is providing the necessary technical and logistical support to successfully complete the project, thereby improving the educational environment and supporting the college in resuming its activities at its permanent location.
This initiative is part of Baghdad University’s broader efforts to expand its academic capacity and optimize infrastructure distribution in line with the Sustainable Development Goals in higher education.
This effort aligns with Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
