The Research and Development Directorate of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research organized a workshop titled “Innovation Management to Strengthen Business Incubators and Science and Technology Parks in Universities.” The event was sponsored by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and attended by Deputy Minister for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd, Director General of the Research and Development Directorate, Professor Dr. Lubna Khamis, and the Assistant Presidents of the University of Baghdad—Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, and Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul-Razzaq Al-Hashemi—along with a distinguished group of expert professors from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The workshop aimed to enhance the strategic leadership of technology incubator managers, review successful global best practices, and support entrepreneurship and startups, while also strengthening university-industry partnerships.
Additionally, the workshop featured an interactive session between Dr. Baqir Al-Aaridhi, a representative of the ministerial committee, and visiting professors from the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as interested academics from Iraqi universities. Discussions focused on mechanisms for collaboration between Iraqi universities, Iranian universities, and universities in the United Kingdom, with the goal of sharing insights and expertise to transform ideas into projects that support students, foster entrepreneurial ventures, and contribute to sustainable development.
This workshop aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
