Baghdad University organized an official visit, bringing together Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibraeeim Ansaf, President of Baghdad University, and Professor Dr. Abbas Mousavi, President of Iran’s Sharif University of Technology, to the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control at the Ministry of Planning. The visit aimed to explore avenues for collaborative efforts in safeguarding scientific and technological research outputs, particularly those originating from the Science and Technology Park.

During the meeting, participants reviewed mechanisms for registering innovations and inventions, the role of standardization and quality control in protecting intellectual property rights, and opportunities for adopting modern technical specifications within joint scientific cooperation projects.

Professor Ansaf emphasized the importance of strengthening regional partnerships in innovation and research development, noting that Baghdad University’s Science Park—expected to produce promising advancements—requires legal and legislative protection through coordination with relevant authorities.

For his part, Professor Mousavi praised the growing scientific ties between the two universities, expressing Iran’s interest in expanding academic collaboration with Iraqi institutions across various technological and industrial fields.

This initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 4, which promotes quality education, and Goal 17, which focuses on partnerships for achieving global development objectives.
