The Scientific Research Authority welcomed a delegation from Iran’s Sharif University of Technology on an official visit aimed at strengthening academic collaboration and fostering scientific partnerships between Iraqi universities and their regional and international counterparts.

The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Shafiq Shaker Al-Moula, President of the Scientific Research Authority; Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of Baghdad University; Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs; and several college deans, along with Professor Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, President of the University of Technology.

Discussions focused on potential opportunities for launching joint research projects, faculty and student exchange programs, and the establishment of specialized scientific centers in the fields of energy, technology, and artificial intelligence.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific and technical collaboration between Iraqi and Iranian universities, contributing to the strategic directions of higher education in Iraq, particularly in applied research and industrial innovation.

This initiative contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4, which promotes quality education, and Goal 17, which emphasizes partnerships for achieving global development objectives.
