The Department of Media and Government Communication at the Presidency of Baghdad University has launched an awareness campaign titled “Digital Excess and Its Impact on Users,” prepared by Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Saeed Dandan and Assistant Lecturer Shahad Haidar Aboud. The campaign aims to shed light on the risks associated with excessive use of modern technology.
The campaign focuses on the effects of digital addiction resulting from excessive use of social media platforms and electronic games, as well as the negative consequences that may affect users’ mental and behavioral health in the long term.
It emphasizes the importance of moderation in using electronic devices while advocating for beneficial recreational alternatives such as engaging in hobbies and reading to enhance awareness and scientific culture among individuals.
This initiative contributes to two Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 4, which promotes quality education, and Goal 17, which emphasizes partnerships for achieving global objectives.
