The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, met with Dr. Nadhir Jabbar Al-Hindawi, representative of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research affiliated with the Holy Al-Hussainiya Shrine, to discuss the preparations for the 9th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. The meeting was also attended by Prof.Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs.

The two parties discussed the scientific themes of the conference and mechanisms for supporting Iraqi universities in enriching research related to the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. They highlighted the importance of documenting the Arbaeen visit from various social, religious, economic, and humanitarian perspectives, aiming to transform it into a sustainable research project that will benefit both society and academic knowledge.

During the meeting, the President of the University of Baghdad emphasized the university’s readiness to provide academic and research support for the conference, offering the necessary academic resources to contribute to the success of this international scientific event, which serves as a platform for dialogue between academic and religious institutions.

It is worth mentioning that the International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage is held annually with the participation of researchers from various countries around the world. The conference aims to study the phenomenon of the Arbaeen pilgrimage through a comprehensive academic approach that enhances understanding of its various dimensions and impacts.
