The University of Baghdad has achieved a new academic milestone, with the number of its scientific research papers published in the global Scopus database exceeding 30,000 high-quality papers. This accomplishment reflects the university’s progress in scientific research and strengthens its position among global universities.

Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, confirmed that this achievement is the result of the efforts of the university’s researchers and academics, who are committed to producing distinguished scientific research that keeps pace with global developments across various fields. Dr. Insaf added that the university continues to support scientific research and enhance the quality of academic output, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals and improving the university’s ranking in global indexes.

Prof.Dr. Ansaf also emphasized that the University of Baghdad is working to provide an advanced research environment by supporting researchers, encouraging publication in reputable journals, and strengthening scientific partnerships with global universities and specialized research centers. Prof.Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, explained that the published research covers a wide range of fields, from medical and engineering sciences to the humanities and social sciences, reflecting the diversity of the university’s scientific output.

It is worth noting that inclusion of research in the Scopus database is an important indicator of the quality and academic impact of scientific research. It provides researchers with broader opportunities to access and utilize their work in future studies.

This achievement contributes to the realization of Sustainable Development Goal 4, which calls for quality education through the development and enhancement of faculty research skills and research publication, as well as Goal 17, which emphasizes partnerships to achieve the goals through academic activities supporting the university’s strategy in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
