The University of Baghdad received an Irish academic delegation on a visit aimed at enhancing academic and scientific cooperation between the two sides, in coordination with the Department of International and Arab Organizations at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where they were received by the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Insaf, and the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah.
The delegation included Prof. Kelsey Shanks and Prof. Sven Schutman, where the two sides discussed ways to expand areas of joint cooperation, including academic exchange programs, conducting joint scientific research, as well as the possibility of signing memorandums of understanding to enhance scientific cooperation.
During the meeting, the President of the University of Baghdad stressed the university’s keenness to strengthen its relations with international academic institutions, pointing out that this visit represents an important step towards exchanging experiences and raising the scientific level of students and researchers.
This visit comes as part of a series of meetings held by the University of Baghdad with international academic institutions, as part of its strategy to enhance academic and research openness at the global level.
This activity achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the seventeenth goal, which calls for partnership to achieve the goals, as it includes activities. The Academy supports the development of the university’s plan to achieve sustainable development goals.
