Assistant Lecturer Maysoon Ward, a lecturer at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad, participated in the Second International Scientific Conference of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), which was held by the SMT Foundation in Iran in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Lubna Khamis, Director General of Research and Development, who headed the Iraqi delegation, and Dr. Nima Dahsh Farhan, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, was part of this esteemed delegation.
During the conference, Ward presented joint research with Prof. Dr. Khalil Hassan Al-Zarkani, former head of the Department of Islamic Civilization at the College, entitled “The Husseiniya Epic: The Clear Way to Defend the Oppressed in the World”.
This international scientific conference is one of the most important scientific events concerned with the heritage and sacrifices of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and aims to shed light on the values and principles embodied by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in his eternal revolution.
The participation of Dr. Maysoon Ward in this conference comes as an affirmation of the interest of the University of Baghdad and the College of Islamic Sciences in commemorating the remembrance of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and highlighting the great role he played in order to uphold the word of truth and support the oppressed.
