An academic delegation from the University of Baghdad, led by Prof.Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, along with several deans from the university, visited Sharif University of Technology, Iran, to explore avenues for academic and scientific collaboration between the two institutions.

The visit aimed to foster cooperation, particularly in establishing a Science Park at the University of Baghdad. As part of this initiative, both universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which includes collaboration on the Science Park project, exchange of expertise, and strengthening scientific research and innovation.

Prof.Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah emphasized that this initiative aligns with the university’s vision to create integrated scientific parks that support researchers and students, enhance engagement with regional and international research institutions, and contribute to commercializing scientific innovations to boost the private sector.

The delegation included the deans of the College of Engineering, Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, College of Law, College of Science, and College of Pharmacy.

Sharif University of Technology is recognized as one of the leading universities in global rankings, appearing in Shanghai Rankings across 11 scientific disciplines and holding an advanced position in the Times Higher Education rankings.

This collaboration aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17), which promotes partnerships to achieve development objectives.
